Digital system interfaces and protocols

Scope

To prepare standards for digital audio, television, video and audiovisual source signal encoding, digital analog decoding, and related control signals including methods of measurement and measuring devices for consumer and professional applications (but excluding recording as covered already by TA 6 and TA 7):

  • Standardization on protocols for electrical (interface) matching.
  • Requirements for electrical characteristics such as sample rate, bandwidth, quantization, format, code, synchronization, clock.
  • Standard measuring methods of parameters such as levels, distortion, noise, audible effects caused by system errors.
