Ad Hoc related to IEC 61966-12 and IEC 61966-2-4

Scope

Ad-Hoc related to IEC 61966-12 and IEC 61966-2-4 was established for the following purpose:
1. To determine if there are technical or practical problems with using Gamut ID Metadata as specified in the IEC 61966-12 CDV (to be issued) with xvYCC content.
2. If problems are identified, to prepare draft text for a recommended solution, to be incorporated either in IEC 61966-12 or IEC 61966-2-4 as appropriate (xvYCC specific solutions would be in Part 2-4; generic solutions would be in Part 12).

The Ad-Hoc will be jointly administered by the TA2 TAM and TS, and will meet virtually (e-mail discussions). The Ad-Hoc is chartered to arrive at consensus technical recommendations, but is not authorized to conduct ballots. If different opinions cannot be reconciled, the Ad-Hoc shall report this back to TA2.

Title

Multimedia systems and equipment - Colour measurement and management - Part 2-6: Commercial RGB colour space

Scope This part of IEC 61966 applies to the colour management system of the reference wide colour gamut and dynamic range of luminance at display devices. The reference wide colour gamut is based on DCI-P3 which is adapted in contents industries. The EOTF (Electrical-Optical Transfer Function) is included as a function of display devices for SDR (Standard Dynamic Range) and HDR (High Dynamic Range). This document is based on televisions and monitors that can express HDR contents under their own HDR EOTF.
