AV energy efficiency and smart grid applications

Scope

To develop standard measurement methods for power consumption and energy efficiency of audio, video and multimedia systems and equipment connected to the power mains. The scope also includes development of standards related to smart grid and home energy management applications in networked multimedia equipment for the purpose of energy measurement and savings.

Scope

The first purpose of this project is to enable creation of a new Technical Report (TR) on worldwide trends in market, technology and governmental policy in terms of Energy Saving System specified in IEC TS 62654 Ed.1.0.The second purpose is to support the possible update or revision of IEC TS 62654 Ed1.0 based on the survey results in order to reflect current technical and market trends.
